How is the meal rate calculated?
MessMeal uses a pooled rate for the whole period: total bazaar cost divided by total meal units logged by everyone. Every full meal counts as 1 unit, a half as 0.5, and extras add on top. Because it’s pooled, meals on days with no bazaar shopping still count — the rate simply adjusts.
What happens when someone leaves or joins mid-month?
Each month has its own roster of people. Fixed costs for a month are split across that month’s household, and meal costs always follow the individual’s own units — so joining or leaving never distorts other people’s numbers.
Can my housemates log meals themselves?
Yes. Invite them with a link and everyone can track meals from their own account. For reliability, members can edit today and yesterday; older entries are admin-only so history can’t quietly change.
Does it work on mobile?
